Preparation of Artificial Aggregates from Marine Dredged Material: CO2 Uptake and Performance Regulation

چکیده

A continuous treatment process using steel slag powder including foam drying and carbonation processes (termed the SSFD-C method) is a novel technology previously developed in our laboratory. It has achieved first application of solidification to recycle marine dredged material with high moisture content. The aim this study investigate CO2 uptake performance regulation preparation carbonated eco-aggregates (CEAs) from soils processed method. Steel lime hydrate independently contribute strength CEAs. However, influence they exert on uptake, along other properties, such as pH values water absorption CEAs, remains unclear. Furthermore, it important clarify whether soluble silica CEA originates soil or slag, potential provide nutrients plants. findings indicated that within initial three hours carbonation, CEAs could approximate 65% ultimate stable strength. for was noted be 26–30% range. Carbonation over 24 h period can lower less than 10, reaction penetrate core 10–15 mm pellets. fraction more favorable increase CEA, decrease value CEA. water-soluble silicon found have been mainly derived while established content by 5–8 times. result theoretical guidance regulating

Dredged marine sand as construction material

Dredging works are usually required to maintenance activities in many ports all over the world and represents a huge volume of disposal material. The use of dredged aggregates can be considered in several applications as erosive process control, coastal stabilization, beach replenishment, production of construction materials (clay, bricks, aggregates) or construction works (foundation fill, dik...

Dredged Material Disposal Economics

Recent difficulties in siting dredged material disposal facilities are increasing interests in alternative disposal or reuse of dredged material and the possible adverse consequences of any increases in the generation of dredged materials. This paper focuses on economic aspects of these issues. Simple methods are suggested for evaluating the economics of increasing or decreasing the rate of dis...

Monitoring of Descending Dredged Material Plumes

Monitoring of 2 disposal operations on Lake Erie near Ashtabula, Ohio, provided an opportunity to employ different approaches to study the physical impact of the disposal of dredged material on the hydraulic regime of the lake in this area. A study conducted in August 1975 involved utilization of several transmissometers placed on 4 anchored vessels and one moving vessel. The transmissometers w...

Preparation and Representation of Recombinant Mn-Ferritin Flower-Like Spherical Aggregates from Marine Invertebrates

Ferritin has important functions in the transition and storage of toxic metal ions, but its regulation and function in many invertebrate species are still largely unknown. In our previous work, the cDNA sequence of Sinonovacula constricta, Apostichopus japonicas and Acaudina leucoprocta were constructed and efficiently expressed in E. Coli BL21 under IPTG induction. In this follow-up study, the...
